Sheila is a senior corporate and securities law clerk at Abrahams LLP and works within the firm’s Business Law Group. With thirty years experience in corporate, tax, compliance and securities law in a wide range of law firms and in-house positions as a law clerk, paralegal and corporate secretary, Sheila has acquired extensive knowledge of legal, regulatory and governance documentation, corporate and securities maintenance and transactions, in particular tax driven reorganizations, board, committee and shareholder matters, chartered banks, merchant banks, venture capital funds, private equity investment trusts and non-bank vendor-financing institutions, indigenous investment, renewable energy and mining, rectification of corporate records, and corporate, legal and corporate secretarial software. Sheila’s years of international travel, post graduate study and overseas work experiences have provided her with a comprehensive understanding of international, multi-national and offshore corporations and finance.
Sheila graduated with an Honours Degree in Modern History from University of Toronto and has a law clerk diploma from Centennial College with some post graduate courses at Exeter College, Oxford University.
Having also worked from time to time as a caterer, Sheila continues to enjoy cooking and especially baking, is a passionate advocate for the disabled, and is a news junkie, especially with respect to Africa and the U.K. She loves history, travel, needlework and sewing, flower arranging, both Western and Ikebana, gardening, all animals but particularly her dog and cats, and watching costume dramas.
